Two women look forlorn as they wait in a room. What are they waiting for? Woman's Liberation? I found this in the fashion section of the 1907 (yes, public domain) edition of the newspaper The New York Sun. They were apparently quite fashionable, but I can't help but feel sorry for them. They look so sad.

This is based on an old public domain image found in the Library of Congress. It was a comic-like illustration of Ellen Swallow Richards. Scientist and environmental chemist.
I removed all the shadings from the original artwork to get it to work with a plotter. This is only the first step. I will upload step by step the changes I make.
