Checkmarks/ticks on circles
Left version comes with an intersected circle (as a path). Right version has a full circle. There the tick is a overlay (with a "shadow"; made gray only for visibility)
This symbol is part of a set originally created by Emily Read. It was published in The Pavement magazine, a periodical for the homeless community in London. The symbols are an up to date version of a traditional form of communication used by the homeless. Emily has kindly given her permission for the symbols to shared on Openclipart. A classic bird emblem reminiscent of hood ornaments of the 50's. This remix is the outline version. Original drawing created by me, scanned, then converted by hand to vector using Inkscape.

This is a simple compass rose to just indicate "north" on a map. The graphic corrects deficiencies in a similar image found on the Web by converting all text elements to paths, allowing system-independent display, and making the arrow a closed, filled path while surrounding it with a white background ("drop shadow") to improve visibility on both light and dark map images.
To preserve the relative width of the drop shadows under the symbols when scaling this image, be sure to enable "Scale stroke width" in the Transform preferences in your SVG editor.
The "N" symbol font is URW Chancery.
